In an already packed and hugely successful career, Michael Ball has racked up some impressive milestones in only the last couple of years; he performed in An Evening With Michael Ball at the BBC Proms in 2007 at the Royal Albert Hall which was the first time the Proms had given an entire evening to a non-classical performer; the same year he made his debut with English National Opera at the Coliseum in Kismet and in October 2007 opened in the smash hit West End production of Hairspray at the Shaftesbury Theatre. His starring role as Edna Turnblad earned him the well-deserved Olivier Award in 2008 for Best Actor In A Musical. And last year he launched his own BBC Radio 2 show, Michael Ball’s Sunday Brunch which airs between 11am and 1pm every Sunday.

“I can’t believe it’s been 25 years!” says a delighted Michael. “And I can’t think of any better way of celebrating 25 years in music and theatre than going on tour and having a party with all my fans up and down the country. I’ve been having the time of my life performing in Hairspray and I shall be truly sad to leave the show…but I’m really looking forward to going out on the road and performing songs from the past and present. I haven’t decided exactly what I’ll be performing yet but rest assured there will be songs from Les Mis, Phantom, Aspects of Love, Hairspray, Kismet and one or two surprises. I’m also planning to invite special guests to join me onstage at some of the venues, so watch this space for more details.”
