One of the showpiece events in the basketball calendar is returning to the National Indoor Arena, Birmingham on Sunday 15th January 2012 as the British Basketball League (BBL) Cup Final is contested between two of the country’s top teams.

It is the tenth year in a row that the ‘must see’ game has been played at The NIA and the venue, which is now synonymous with the biggest games in British hoops, has produced some classic finals.

Cup Final Day is one of the most eagerly-anticipated during the BBL (men’s professional league in the UK) season as the stars of the British game lay it all on the line in pursuit of this coveted piece of silverware in the illustrious surroundings of The NIA in Birmingham. Last season the One Health Sheffield Sharks lifted the Cup following an incredible victory over the Mersey Tigers.

In additional to the usual support game, also taking place on the day is the BBL Dunk Contest. The contest is a spectacle in itself as one of the league’s foremost individual accolades is awarded to whichever of the high-flyers most impresses the judges and the crowd. Completing the line up will be the stunning BBL Babes Cheerleaders, mascots, and lots more.
