The biggest event in British basketball is returning to Birmingham’s National Indoor Arena (NIA) as the British Basketball League (BBL) Championship Final takes place on Saturday 8th May 2010.

The BBL Championship Playoff Final is the culmination of the British Basketball League Championship season, and the pinnacle of many a player’s career. After a 36-game regular season, the top eight teams in the country progress to the BBL Championship Playoff quarter-finals. Those that are successful progress to the semi final round with the two semi final winners heading to the NIA for Saturday 8th May’s big finale in a contest that will crown the 2009/10 BBL Playoff Champions.
This year’s event will also once again also play host to the 2010 BBL All Star Game involving the best players from all round the League.

It is the seventh time that the illustrious event has been staged at this venue in Britain’s second city, a hotbed for basketball, since the turn of the century. In the embryonic days of professional basketball in the UK, the late 80s and early 90s, the event was staged at the National Exhibition Centre (NEC) on three occasions.
