Don't miss your chance to be trackside at one of the world's finest indoor athletics events - the showcase event of the UKA season, the Aviva Grand Prix. The prestigious UKA event returns to the Birmingham NIA on Saturday February 20 with many of the world’s greatest athletes in action.
Not only will the main event be exciting but the pre-event entertainment is worth buying a ticket for by itself. At 12.30pm the Extreme High Jump event will see British High Jumpers compete against the Uk’s top BMX-riders and inline skaters. The competition will be judged by the audience and will take into account skills such as style, flips and technical difficulty as the athletes fling themselves over a ‘laser’ bar - all to entertain the crowd.
The event’s curtain closer was a National Record by Britain’s Mo Farah in the 3000m and it seemed Farah used that as a platform for the European Indoor Championships, where he took gold. And now that the Jamaican and American track and field teams have confirmed they will used Birmingham as a holding camp for London 2012 expect to see their athletes affiliate themselves with the city as soon as possible. A fun-packed day full of excitement and entertainment for all the family!
