Situated in the centre of Birmingham, The NIA was purpose build to accommodate major sporting events. We are recognized as one of Europe’s leading indoor sporting arenas hosting everything from Athletics and gymnastics to netball, basketball, hockey, boxing, darts, snooker and football.
But sport is just part of our business, our arena can be transformed to accommodate comedy, opera and ice events as well as being recognised as one of the UK’s must play arenas for all major touring artists.

The versatility of our venue is second to none, our unique retractable seating system allows configurations vary from 3,500 up to 14,200 (standing) and everything in between.
Because we can be intimate
The NIA also transforms into The NIA Academy - a theatre style layout with a capacity of between 3,500 and 5,100 and The Eclipse – a standing only format with capacities between 2,750 and 7,500.

The catering package at The NIA can be tailored to suit your needs and delivered to the location of your choice. There are dining areas and a cafeteria facility which can be open at times to suit the needs of your staff and customers and we can even build entirely new food outlets if required.
